Get Up Earlier Than You Want To
I am writing this from whence I speak. Jumping out of a warm bed on a cold morning at 5:30 was not the plan. It’s funny how things work out sometimes.
First of all, I woke up from a dream that delivered insight about a real life situation. My inclination was to go back to sleep, but the night crew had other ideas. When clients report their dreams AND ask about the meaning, I give them my best interpretation of the workings of the brain: The stuff we don’t want to think about during our awake hours gets stored in a file for the night crew, a squad responsible for processing that which we consciously avoid. How cool is that?
Secondly, getting up early treated me to the quiet of the night. It was remarkable to soak in the calm that no sound offered-up. It was oddly energizing. Given what I dreamt about, I know I’ll need this nugget of patience for later when things get hectic.
